There may be no greater challenge in the game of golf than the PGA
WEST TPC® Stadium Golf® Course, designed by Pete Dye and ranked
in The 100 Greatest Courses in the U.S. by Golf Magazine. Revered
for its brash beauty and intriguing design, nine of the holes have
water very much in play, and almost every hole displays Pete Dye's
tremendous bunkering. This is especially true on the 16th, a 571
yard, par 5, where the massive green side bunker, complete with
stairs, sits 18 feet below the level of the green. It's no wonder
the TPC® Stadium Golf Course has been the site of so many high-profile
events, including The Skins Game, The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic,
The Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, and the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
At
La Quinta Resort & Club® and PGA WEST®, there are seven
restaurants to choose from, each offering a unique dining experience.
Options range from authentic Mexican cuisine at Adobe Grill to traditional
favorites and steakhouse dining at Morgans; from the delicate and
innovative seafood at the new Azur by Le Bernardin to the
casual, lighter fare at The Spa Bistro and Clubhouses. Delight your
tastebuds with entrees that vary from the very rich to the lightest
of spa cuisine.
Their
Executive Chef has created spa cuisine options to complement the
existing menus at many of the restaurants at La Quinta Resort &
Club. These items are prepared simply and elegantly, with flavors
that speak for themselves. Calories and fat grams have been kept
to a minimum without sacrificing texture or flavor. Try cold poached
salmon with butter lettuce, fresh cucumber, dill and tomato salad
at Morgans or achiote poached shrimp at the Adobe Grill.
A
favorite attraction is the world-famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway,
which ascends 8,500 feet up the side of Mt. San Jacinto in new,
Swiss-made rotating tram cars. At the top, mountain hiking trails
wind among green, lush pine trees in the spring and summer, and
the snow is deep enough for cross-country skiing in winter.
The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens is one of the most unique tourist
attractions in the Palm Springs Desert Resorts, giving visitors
a complete introduction to the desert’s indigenous animals and plants.
Children are especially fond of "critter close-ups," a chance to
see and touch small desert animals, tortoises, snakes and birds.
This
is it. Where the kids act like kids and the adults act like...well...kids!
